Texas’ Kassie Mowry is a National Finals Barrel Racer but she is primarily known as one of the best barrel horse trainers and futurity trainers in the business. She took a break from the futurity training and brought Famous Ladies Man to the rodeo at the greatest outdoor show on Earth
“[Famous Ladies Man] just has the right style for it. He seems to stand up in all different grounds and handles all different set ups and he gives me an honest shot every time. He truly loves it and loves to go,” Mowry said.
The times seem to be getting faster every day in Calgary and the duo laid down the fastest run of the rodeo this far on Day 6 when they stopped the clock at 17.13 seconds.
“He’s done some pretty impressive stuff so I never count him out but I am just so proud of him, to bring it at the right time, it’s a good feeling and just so excited to be here,” she said.
Mowry says that Famous Ladies Man tries with everything that he has and with two more rounds in Pool B, if things keep going at the rate they are, there is no telling just how fast these two can go. Mowry and Round 1 winner Wenda Johnson are tied at the top of the pool with $9,000 apiece. The Top 4 cowgirls based on money earned advance to Championship Sunday.
