Wenda Johnson Posts Fastest Run of Calgary Stampede

Wenda Johnson left no doubt after her run. She posted a 17.20-second run, the fastest of the Calgary Stampede thus far. Johnson had a decision to make before her run on which horse she would compete on. After selecting Mo, it was clear she made the right choice.

Johnson said of her decision to run Mo, “Well I ran Mack at Ponoka, and so I said alright Mo it is your turn. We are going to start out on him and see how it goes.”

Johnson is no stranger to success in Calgary and spoke about what this rodeo means to her.

“It is amazing, the crowd is unbelievable and the hospitality is amazing. The committee goes above and beyond, they are working really hard on the ground and we have access to Justin Sports Medicine. Everybody has been so amazing, the people are fantastic and I am grateful to be here.”

Johnson is in a great position to advance to the short round after earning $5,500 in round one. The top four money-earners from each pool will advance to Championship Sunday.
