BREAKING: Sage Kimzey Out For Remainder of 2022 Season

Seven-time World Champion Sage Kimzey will not ride a bull for the rest of 2022 due to shoulder surgery, he announced on Instagram Tuesday afternoon.

“Unfortunately I have heartbreaking news to share, my 2022 season has come to an end. Today, I found out that my shoulder will require surgery to fix,” Kimzey wrote on Instagram. “For 10 years I’ve rode with pain and it’s time to fix it. At this time Dr. Tandy is trying to find out the best approach to fix it because it is a complex injury.”

Kimzey, the reigning World Champion, had already won just over $115,000 for the season and notched victories inFort Worth, San Antonio and the Cactus Jack Xtreme Bulls in 2022. He is currently No. 3 in the PRCA World Standings.

“Although my season was cut short, I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished,” he wrote. “For 160 seconds of work, I was able to win $115k from 11 rodeos and 9 Xtreme Bulls.”
