Resistol Rookie Update: Barrels & Breakaway After Cowboy Channel Rookie Roundup

The first ever Cowboy Channel Rookie Roundup crowned it’s champions and we see both of their names in the top three of the Resistol Rookie standings.

Barrel Racing

1. Bayleigh Choate $19,628

Choate’s winnings from Rodeo Austin where she won the second round and placed third in the finals on her horse, Boozer. She hit a barrel in Round One of the Cowboy Channel’s Rookie Roundup to keep her out of moving on but she pulled a check in Helotes to add to her season earnings.

2. Presley Smith $15,556

Smith is the Champion of the Cowboy Channel Rookie Roundup presented by Resistol. Smith and her horse that she calls Jerry got faster with every run they made inside Cowtown Coliseum. The duo ran a 13.82 to tie for the fastest run of the weekend.

3. Kailee Murdock $15,111

Murdock has found her stride recently. She had an impressive showing at San Angelo, pulled checks in Clovis and Logandale before she caught a barrel in Round Two of the Cowboy Channel Rookie Roundup. She is running her horse called Sherlock, they are a duo to keep an eye on.

Breakaway Roping

1. Josie Conner $13,193

Conner is a name that we knew from her success in high school rodeo and now, she hit the big stage. She wins big checks and her got started in Lubbock and her most recent check came in Fort Worth.

2. Gianna Cianfichi $8,431

Cianfichi is the Cowboy Channel Rookie Roundup Champion and that alone added $2,500 to her earnings and helped her climb the Resistol Rookie standings. She also pulled a check recently in Clovis.

3. Bryana Lehrmann $6,780

Lehrmann is another cowgirl that had luck in Clovis. She did not have the same luck in Fort Worth but the summer run is right around the corner and she can continue to climb the standings.

Breakaway continues to grow and the horse power that we see in the barrel racing is undeniable. There is less than one month until Reno Rodeo and the ladies of professional rodeo will make the summer rodeo’s as exciting as ever.
