Stevi Hillman entered the second of two barrel racing rounds at the Red Bluff Round-Up in second place before she and her horse, Truck, raced to a time of 17.10 seconds on Sunday to win the Average by three-tenths.
“The ground was fast today and it was harder so I knew I could let Truck turn tighter and be a little more risky,” Hillman said. “He kind of scared me, but he was firing.”
Hillman was 17.32 in a wet Round 1, which was three-hundredths behind Payton Schoeppach. Hillman was the highest earner of the rodeo by bringing in nearly $9,000.
