Wenda Johnson Breaks Arena Record in Fort Worth

The Barrel Racing in Fort Worth has never been faster than the 2022 rodeo. Earlier in the rodeo, Jordon Briggs broke the arena record with a 16.25 second run on the back of her famous horse Rollo.

On Monday, it was Wenda Johnson who set the new arena record, with a 16.17 second time. Johnson was riding “Mac” who she rode at the NFR in 2021.

Winning a round in Fort Worth continues an impressive trend for Johnson, when she shows up to a rode, she cashes a check. Last season she qualified for the NFR in only 25 appearances throughout the season.

After her run, Johnson said, “Mac is very fast, but he does it so flawlessly and smooth that he doesn’t feel like he is running out from under me.”

Johnson will be competing tonight and looks to secure a spot in the Semi-Finals of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo
