Kyle Lucas Wins Tie-Down Roping at National Western, Gets Interviewed by his Sister

The rodeo world is very close-knit, but no one is closer than family and on Sunday, Kyle and Katy Lucas got to share a special interview after Kyle’s 7.5 second run to win the rodeo.

“I watched Rocker Steiner interview and I don’t how I’m going to get you guys as pumped as he did, but I know this is awesome to be here,” Kyle said. “I’ve always thought that this was one of the best crowds.”

All four of Kyle’s times were between 7.5 and 9.3 seconds in Denver and he won about $9,300. Michael Otero, who won more money than any tie-down roper over the course of the rodeo, finished second in the Short Round.
