Out of more than 70 competitors, Stetson Wright and Josh Frost were the only two bull riders to cover both of their bulls at the Fort Worth Xtreme Bulls with Wright coming out on top by riding Rafter G’s Johnny Thunder for 90 points in the Short Round.
“Trying to build the confidence, that’s the biggest thing for me, confidence,” Wright said afterward. “It seems to be coming together.”
Wright finished with 178.5 points on two head and won almost $20,000 total.
Frost, who has now ridden 13 consecutive bulls in PRCA competition, got started with 86 points on 4L & Diamond S’s Last Cigarette in the Long Round on Wednesday night and then notched 86.5 in the Short Round on Stockyards Pro Rodeo’s Ground Assault.
Finishing in third at the event was Grayson Cole, who went 90 on Big Rafter’s Farmers Only in Tuesday night’s Long Round. No one made the whistle in the Short Round that night.
