Brody Cress talks 2021 season and NFR preparation in The Cowboy Channel Justin Boots Studio

The No. 3 saddle bronc rider in the PRCA World Standings and two-time NFR Average winner joined Jeff Medders in The Cowboy Channel Justin Boots Studio for Tuesday’s Road to NFR.

“My mindset is just getting prepared, taking it one day at a time, making sure to work out and get back to practicing,” Cress said. “Being prepared as I can going out there and then just getting out there and having fun and going 100 the whole time, because that’s what it’s going to take to capitalize on the situation and have a chance to win the World Title.”

Cress, who won Calgary, Ellensburg, Lawton and eight other rodeos this season, said it was great to get back to a full schedule. At The Stampede, he tied the arena record to in the Finals with 94.5 points.

"(Calgary) is an amazing rodeo and I’ve gotten to go there a few times,” he said. “We were kind of nervous what it was going to be like this year, if we were going to get to go or not, so we were pumped up when we did.”

Cress says he wants to put his Texas NFR experience behind him after he admittedly was not as prepared mentally as he could’ve been and was fighting things in his riding.

“I’m building off the season that I have put together and preparing into October and November to be ready to go this year,” he said.
