JB Mauney’s interview after going 90 in Del Rio

No bull rider rode two on the first night of the George Paul Memorial Xtreme Bulls in Del Rio, Texas, but the legendary JB Mauney brought them to their feet with a 90 in the Long Round.

“Well, I saw a video of him (the bull Space Unicorn) and he didn’t buck quite that hard, so I wasn’t expecting it,” he said. “When he left out of there, he snatched on me a little bit and I figured I better start riding.”

Mauney, who is currently No. 19 in the PRCA World Standings, also said his goal this year is to make the NFR and he’s having a blast going from rodeo to rodeo.

Mauney’s ride was the highest score of the night. Giving him the lead going into night two of action, where 40 new bull riders will attempt to win the title by having the highest score on two bulls.
