Louisiana bullrider Dustin Boquet was 2-for-2, including an 87-point ride on 4L & Diamond S Rodeo’s Ferdinand in the Championship Round to cinch the victory at the San Antonio Xtreme Bulls on Sunday.
Boquet’s win earned him $6,300 and pushed him to No. 2 in the standings behind Josh Frost.
“I got on him (Ferdinand) a year or two or go in Fort Worth and he made pretty short work of me,” Boquet said. “I was making sure he wasn’t going to do it again. I knew that bull was good and heck, all you gotta do is stay on in Short Rounds that’s what it comes down to here. I’ve done my job and got the win. I feel pretty excited.”
BOQUET’S WINNING RIDE
Overall, it was a great bullriding in the Freeman Coliseum Sunday afternoon as six cowboys rode for more than 84.5 points in the Long Round and all eight men who advanced to the Championship round scored more than 81 points.
