Last night’s XTreme Bulls in Rapid City, South Dakota, events did not disappoint. In fact, it exceeded expectations.
Featuring 40 of the top bull riders in the world (as well as the best of the best from Dakota Rodeo, Korkow Rodeos, Burch Rodeo, New Frontier Rodeo and Sutton Rodeos), the Rodeo Rapid City Xtreme Bulls saw 18 qualified rides. Two were in the 90s, 17 were 80 or better, and all eight of the cowboys in the money went at least 85 with Clayton Sellars and 6X world champion Sage Kimzey splitting eight at the bottom of the leaderboard, pocketing $200 each.
Coming off his big win in Odessa, Josh Frost took the title in Rapid City with a 91.5-point ride on Dakota Rodeo’s D-Day. He also took $4,004 in prize money, and he’s now sitting No. 1 in the 2021 World Standings with just more than $12,800 in total season earnings.
“The year has been going good,” Frost told ProRodeo.com. “I came up just short of making the NFR last year, but I was riding good at the end of the season and I’ve kept the ball rolling into this year. … I’m in the top spot now and I’m going to have the pedal to the metal all the way through.”
