Patrick Gottsch on the seating at AT&T Stadium

RFD-TV’s The American will be limited to 18,000 people at AT&T Stadium in 2021, but Rural Media Group founder Patrick Gottsch is just happy to be putting on a rodeo.

“We really want to take a stand here and give cowboys and cowgirls some big money to go after,” Gottsch said. “We really want to put as many people in here as we can to cheer on these cowboys and cowgirls. The American has not been a disappointment any year in the seven years we’ve had it. There’s always a great story, a great show.”

He says The American is lucky in the sense that it’s one of the few, if only, large rodeos that has had the opportunity to hold an event two years in a row.

Gottsch also mentioned that because of the other large events Arlington has hosted, the city knows how to hold large events despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
