Ryder Wright (along with brothers Rusty and Stetson) dominated in the bronc riding throughout the 2020 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

“I’ve had an awesome week,” Ryder said. “Couldn’t have drawn any better than I did. That’s a huge part in winning world titles, drawing good horses. I was lucky enough to capitalize on them. I was feeling pretty good today. I was confident and just let it play out, and it worked out in my favor.”

Ryder placed in nine out of the ten rounds, five of which he won, and caught longtime PRCA World Standings leader Wyatt Casper early on. By Round 10, all Ryder had to do was make it to the buzzer.

And he did more than just stay on. On the final night of the rodeo, Ryder went 91 points on Pete Carr’s Big Tex, winning the average, splitting the round win with brother Stetson, winning the average, and earning his second world title.

Overall, Ryder earned more than $247,000 at the NFR, putting him in second for the RAM Top Gun Award behind barrel racer Hailey Kinsel. He broke the NFR average record with 876.5 points on 10 head. In total, Wright amassed $358,470 in 2020.

Casper, who entered the Wrangler NFR first in the world, finished second in the world with $320,984. Brody Cress was a distant third with $173,846 for the year.
