Jacob Talley stopped the clock at 3.4 seconds to win Round Four in steer wrestling and break the mark for fastest time in the rodeo Will Lummus had set the night before.
“There’s a lot that has to go right and some of it just has to be unconscious, it’s so fast,” Talley said. “You have to max out the barrier.....Especially something this fast, you have to get close to the barrier. The draw, we drew one we knew was good, we knew he wasn’t going to run as hard as some of the other ones......So there’s a lot of factors that go into it.”
The Go-Round win vaulted Talley to No. 1 in the world and brought his NFR earnings to $54,423, more than any other bulldogger.
“It’s awesome, especially being in this building, it’s electric,” he said.
TALLEY’S RUN
Stetson Jorgensen has not won a round but has been quietly consistent to lead the average after he was 3.9 to split second with Jesse Brown last night. He’s 16.60 on 4 head.

Dakota Eldridge is second in the average and Bridger Anderson is third.
