Tyler Waguespack said in his post-run interview on Friday night that Saturday could produce some of the fastest times in the bulldogging. He was right.

On Saturday night, six steer wrestlers were 3.8 or faster with Mississippi’s Will Lummus besting them all by stopping the clock at 3.5 seconds. Coming into Saturday, 3.8 was the fastest time of the rodeo.

LUMMUS’ RUN

“Man, this set (of steers) tonight, I feel like they were so even, guys were all taking the same starts, getting great starts.....It’s whoever can get their hands on them fastest,” Lummus said.

In the on-going shuffling of the steer wrestling standings, Lummus is now No. 3 in the world after entering the Wrangler NFR outside the Top 10.

NFR rookie Bridger Anderson made a similar move. After splitting Round Two with Waguespack on Friday, he got one to the ground in 3.6 seconds to share second with Jacob Talley. Anderson is now No. 2.

ANDERSON’S RUN

After coming up empty in Rounds One and Two, world No. 1 Matt Reeves got himself a check Saturday with a 3.8-second run to share fifth with Jacob Edler.
