Haley Bridwell on the Cascade Chute Out

The Cascade Chute Out is a new event for this year — as a combination of three rodeos that were canceled for this year. Being held in Redmond, Oregon, it’s a culmination of the Crooked River Roundup, Sisters Rodeo, and High Desert Stampede.

Haley Bridwell of Bridwell Pro Rodeos joined Western Sports Round-Up to talk about the event they were able to put together.

“We’ve worked really hard with community, county, and government officials, and we’re really excited to bring it to town,” says Bridwell. “One of the things we wanted to do in bringing all three rodeo committees together and the stock contractors was really give back to as many people as we could in this COVI-19 world we’re living in now. ... We just really tried to give as much back to the community, to the cowboys, to the contractors and the contract personnel.”

“Together we are better, and we do not want to see rodeo and this way of life go away, on this West coast and Pacific Northwest coast, so we’re going to push back. We’re going to push back respectfully and responsibly, and we are going to make rodeo happen here and hopefully set a precedent moving forward.”
