Bareback Rookie of the Year Leader: Cole Reiner

Cole Reiner isn’t wasting any time making a name for himself in ProRodeo. In fact, his goal win the Resistol Rookie of the Year title — and he’s on track to do it.

Currently No. 14 overall in the Bareback Riding World Standings, Reiner’s got a strong lead in the Rookie race by more than $20,000.

Cole and traveling partner Mason Clements talk about his progression throughout his rookie year.

He works out every day, he rides his spurr board every day, and he eats, sleeps, and breathes bareback riding,” says Clements. “Everything you want in a bareback rider, Cole’s got it.”

Last weekend, Reiner split the win in Rapid City, and last night, we watched him take the lead in Gunnison with an 88 point-ride on United Pro Rodeo’s Pow Wow Nights. On Monday, he’ll be riding in the Yellowstone Riggin’ Rally alongside the other top 23 in the World Standings — which will air on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+ App September 13!
