A first-of-its-kind event took place at the Cowtown Coliseum in the Fort Worth Stockyards from Jan. 21-24.
In each discipline, dozens of the top cowboys who had yet to qualify for San Antonio were giving the opportunity to do that at the Stockyards Shootout.
Each rodeo event started with around 24 athletes and after a tournament-style formal, the Top 4 punched their tickets to one of the nation’s most prestigious rodeos.
Additionally, the winners all took home $2,000.
