Champion barrel racer Stevi Hillman and Melissa Slayton join Steve Kenyon on Western Sports Roundup to talk about a special horse: Born to B Bad.
Owner Melissa discusses the racehorses pedigree and success on the track while Stevi explains why she wanted to also train him for the arena. She’s trained a racehorse to run barrels before, with great success — in fact, that horse helped Stevi win Reserve Rookie of the Year in 2012. So she jumped at the chance to work with Born to B Bad.
“He’s training really good, taking it really well,” Stevi says. “He’s a pretty particular little horse, but he tries really hard. So you have to stay patient with him and let him figure it out. And he’s come a long way in a short amount of time.”
