Stetson Wright took another step in his quest to repeat as the champion of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo as he rode J Bar J’s Painted Commotion for 89.5 points to win the first Semifinal.
“I don’t know what it looked like, but it felt really good,” he said. “I just kept trying to gas it, that’s an awesome horse.”
It was a competitive round of saddle bronc riding as the cowboys had to be at least 87.5 to advance to the Finals. Kade Bruno, Dawson Hay and Wyatt Casper will be joining Wright to compete for the title Saturday, meaning four 2022 NFR qualifiers advanced Thursday night.
