Stetson Wright and Dawson Hay Split Title in Fort Worth

Two of the best to do it split the title in Fort Worth after Stetson Wright and Dawson Hay were both 90.5 points in the Finals. Wright was matched up with Calgary Stampede’s Xena Warrior and Hay drew Tokyo Bubbles, also from the Calgary Stampee.

Wright has a history with Xena Warrior, in 2021 he was marked 87 points on the bronc at the California Rodeo Salinas. In the rematch, he knew he rode her better and was due for a big score.

“Whenever you got a Calgary horse you know you got a chance. I have already been on her, I know for a fact I rode her better today than last time. The get off was worse.”

Hay had his hands full with Tokyo Bubbles, who he said almost got the better of him.

“Honestly after the third jump I got a little runout. It was actually kind of a handful throughout there. I just knew I had to keep gassing and stay on the front end and let it all hang out.”

With the win, Stetson Wright has jumped to first place in the PRCA World Standings with over $46,000 on the season and Hay now sits inside the Top 5 at No. 4 with over $23,000 earned.

All eight bronc riders were at least 85.5 points in the Finals on Saturday.
