Dirk Tavenner will be out until November after injuring his right arm on his first run at the Cinch Playoffs on Sept. 8.

According to ProRodeo.com, Tavenner will not undergo surgery, instead opting for 4-6 weeks of physical therapy. The official injury is a strained bicep, torn pec and strained rotator cuff.

Tavenner is sitting No. 12 in the PRCA Steer Wrestling World Standings and is $18,000 clear of the No. 16 cowboy, Bridger Chambers. Tavenner is expected to be back by the NFR and is targeting an official return at the Wilderness Circuit Finals on Nov. 4.

Should he qualify for the NFR, it would be his second appearance after making his debut inside the Thomas and Mack in 2021.
