Statler Wright Leads The Pack Advancing out of Bracket 2 of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo

Statler Wright secured his position in the Semifinals in San Antonio with $6,500 in earnings

Statler Wright made back-to-back winning rides in Bracket 2 of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo to lock in his position in the Semifinals with $6,500 earned.

Wright turned in an 87-point ride in Round 2 on Calgary Stampede’s Urgent Delivery and followed up with 82.5 points on Baby Kibitz to secure the win in Round 3.

“I do better the more I get on. I’ve been getting on a lot here lately so hopefully I’ll just keep things rolling. My saddle’s feeling really good and I just hope to keep adding to it,” Wright said.

World Champion Zeke Thurston claimed the No. 1 spot in Round 1 on Calgary Stampede’s Umber Bubbles and continued to collect checks in Rounds 2 and 3 to secure his Semifinals qualification with $5,500 in earnings.

Sage Newman stayed consistent in Bracket 2, cinching second place in Round 1 and third place in Round 2. Newman sits No. 3 in the qualifiers and is headed to the Semifinals with $3,500.

Rounding out the Top 4 of the Bracket 2 qualifiers was Quintin McWhorter, who pulled in $2,500 after placing Round 1 and Round 3.

The Semifinals from San Antonio are Feb. 22 and 23 on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+.
