STANDINGS SHUFFLE: Westyn Hughes goes from No. 16 to No. 5

Westyn Hughes made his presence felt at his first career Wrangler NFR last year by placing in six Go-Rounds and winning one and as we head toward the summer stretch, Hughes looks poised to return to rodeo’s biggest stage.

Hughes’ recipe for moving was winning the Cinch Chute in San Angelo on April 24 and the Stonyford (California) Rodeo on May 1. He was also second in Clovis, which concluded on April 25. He placed in three of his rounds there.

At the top of the standings, the lead has changed hands a few times over the last few weeks. Shane Hanchey and Tuf Cooper have both had some time as the World No. 1. You can see the complete Tie-Down Roping World Standings here.
