Although they didn’t rope together most of 2020, Joseph Harrison and Luke Brown were still a fan-favorite pair.
The duo won RFD-TV’s The American in March and then reunited at the Wrangler NFR in December, where they both entered No. 1 in the world. Ultimately, Brown finished second and Harrison finished third, but in an interview with ProRodeo.com, Harrison acknowledged he’s still going all-out in 2021.
“San Antonio got away from me a couple of times, and I would like to win it and Houston since that got away from me before, too......Those are milestone rodeos, just like Cheyenne, Salinas and Reno. No matter what the money pays, just to say when you’re old and gray that, ‘Back in such and such year I won that rodeo,’ they’re conversation pieces, not to mention all of them pay good. Some pay really, really good like Houston paying $50,000 to the winner,” Harrison said. “I don’t want to look back and say, ‘If I had given it 110% I could have done it,’ or ‘I could have done it if I just stuck my neck out. So my goal is that no matter what, with every steer to do a good job and don’t halfway do it.”
