Shane Proctor Announces 2024 Farewell to Bull Riding

World Champion and six-time National Finals bull rider Shane Proctor has taken to social media to announce that his departure from professional bull riding is on the horizon.

After making numerous comebacks and never letting any injury keep him down, Proctor has always made it clear that he would know when his time was up. In his Instagram post, the World Champion said that 2024 will be his last year of bull riding.

Proctor happens to be an all-around hand and has mentioned that we might still see him in the arena after this year, just not on the back of a bull.

“I’ve always done it best when I can see my goals in writing and I’ve always done things my way, so 2024 will be my last 365 days of riding bulls,” he wrote on Instagram. “Now you might see me riding some broncs or roping a couple calves after that, But 2024 WILL be the last year of bull riding.”

Proctor, 38, has finished in the Top 5 in the final PRCA World Standings three times since 2013 and made the NFR as recently as 2021.
