Shad Mayfield Goes 7.8 in Short Round to Claim Reno Rodeo Title

Shad Mayfield stayed hot in the month of June with a 7.8-second run in the Short Round to nab the title from World No. 1 Riley Webb by two tenths of a second.

"(This win) is so rewarding to me,” Mayfield said. “This is one of my favorite rodeos, the crowd here is awesome.”

Mayfield has now won more than $25,000 in June and gone from No. 4 to No. 2 in the PRCA World Standings. Since June 14, he has six times of 8.5 Seconds or Faster.

Mayfield brought in $15,583 for the win, but Webb proved why he’d be hard to catch this season, as his second place finish in the Average and Go-Round money totaled over $16,000.
