Sawyer Gilbert’s name will go down in Rodeo Austin history as she secured the first ever Breakaway Roping Championship Title with a 2.2-second run in the Final Round.
“I was first out in the Semifinals and so I just wanted to see the same start and be really sharp with it and believe when I dropped my hand in the corner and make my first shot,” Gilbert said.
After earning a check for a total of $10,569 at Rodeo Austin the cowgirl is now projected to move into the Top 15 for the WPRA World Standings.
