Reporter Amy Wilson says that at every rodeo she’s been to this year, Boudreaux Campbell has walked by her and said, “I’m going to come talk to you later.”
Campbell finally had his chance on Saturday, scoring an interview with Wilson as the 2020 San Antonio XTreme Bulls Champion. He also got the coveted XBulls buckle he’s been wanting since he was a kid.
When asked about what pushed him to become a bull rider, Campbell says with a chuckle, “I don’t like working. ... I don’t want to have an 8-to-9 or a 9-to-5 job. So I figured I wanted to make my career riding bulls — and that way, when I retire, I won’t have had to work a day in my life.”
