Half of the field for both the Finals and the Wildcard are set in San Antonio and after tonights Semifinals2, we will know the rest.

Semifinal 1 brought a new arena record in the breakaway roping courtesy of Shai Schaefer and a Go-Round win in the team roping by over half a second for Andrew Ward and Tanner Braden.

Meanwhile on the roughstock side of things, Lefty Holman got one step closer to finishing the job with his 89-point ride.

The Second Semifinal is here, and you can watch it on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+ beginning at 8 PM ET.

BAREBACK RIDING

Rocker Steiner is looking for his second Texas Swing win of the season and his matchup tonight is J Bar J’s Straight Ringer. Keenan Hayes went 90 on this horse at the National Finals Rodeo just a few short months ago and more recently, Cole Reiner covered the horse for 87 points in Fort Worth.

STEER WRESTLING

Tristan Martin threw the fastest time of the rodeo when he stopped the clock at 3.3 seconds in his bracket. He is back to do it again but his competition is tough. That includes Kyle Irwin who also picked up two go-round wins in his bracket and finished third in his Semifinal last year.

TEAM ROPING

The defending champs are back. Dustin Egusquiza and Levi Lord are looking for a repeat. In 2023, they got the job done after battling back through the Wildcard Round, this year they hope to skip that step. It took a 3.7 to win Semifinals 1 and Egusquiza and Lord have been 3.5 in this arena before.

Layton Green matched up with Alpha Dog in 2023 to win Semifinal 2. This year, the Canadian cowboy has Smith Pro Rodeo’s Levi the Boss. This is a veteran bucking horse who has been there, done that. This year, Sterling Crawley will climb on Alpha Dog in the Semifinals for a rematch for the Texas native.

BULL RIDING

Another batch of bull riders who were not in this scenario in San Antonio in 2023 means a brand new champion. Cody Teel could be in store for his second title of the Texas Swing. His bull is Dirty Mike, one who multiple cowboys have had success on in San Antonio including Clayton Savage earlier this week.
