San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo Format Explained

Like some other big indoor Texas rodeos, the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo has adopted a bracket system to determine a champion.

In San Antonio, athletes are divided into five brackets where they will each compete in three rounds. From there, the Top 4 money earners in each bracket move on to the Semifinals.

There are two Semifinal rounds and the Top 5 from each will advance to the Finals, where the athlete who finishes with the most money will be crowned the champion.

The Wild Card works a little differently in San Antonio. It occurs after the Semifinals and all 10 semifinalists who did not qualify for the Finals will compete in the Wild Card to secure the last spot.

The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo begins on Thursday, Feb. 10 and ends Saturday, Feb. 26. You can watch every performance live or on demand on The Cowboy Channel+ App.
