San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo: Bracket 4

SASSR Bracket 4_1280

Three brackets are complete with two to go in San Antonio. Up next is Bracket 4 and it brings us reigning World Champions, multi-time World Champions and some of rodeo’s top animal athletes.

BAREBACK RIDING

Reigning World Champion Jess Pope and six-time World Champion Kaycee Feild are among the 10 bareback riders that will battle it out. One of Pope’s matchups is Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s Black River, who Cole Reiner and and Trenton Montero both rode for 83-points. Feild has drawn Calgary Stampede’s Bigtimin Houston, the horse that rookie Kade Sonnier rode for 85.5 points in Bracket 3.

TIE-DOWN ROPING

Marty Yates would go on to redeem himself with a Wildcard Round win in 2022 and he sits inside the Top 30 in the World. The money up at San Antonio and Yate’s previous success at this arena, he could climb the standings. However, Jake Pratt, Riley Webb and Tuf Cooper are just a few of the names that Yates has to be faster than.

BREAKAWAY ROPING

The ladies roping in Bracket 4 are sure to bring some fast times. Kelsie Domer and Tibba Smith have seen the winner’s circle in San Antonio multiple times after success in 2022. Young gun ropers Josie Conner and Madison Outhier are no strangers to success either. It would be no surprise if they found their way to the pay window in San Antonio.
