Four more Semifinal tickets in each event were punched in San Antonio because Bracket 2 concluded on Sunday evening.
In the bareback riding, standout rookies Keenan Hayes and Dean Thompson split first with $5,000 and they took very different paths to get there. Hayes placed second in two rounds and fourth in another while Thompson won the last two rounds after not placing in Round 1.
Steer wrestler Jesse Brown turned in two runner-up finishes and a third to finish with $5,250. He was one of three timed event athletes with more than $5,000 in Bracket 2. The other two were team roping winners Tyler Wade/Travis Graves, who banked $5,500 with times of 5.1, 5.7 and 4.0 seconds.
The other three timed event winners were Cory Solomon in tie-down roping ($4,500), Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi in barrel racing ($4,000) and Jordan Jo Hollabaugh ($2,500) in breakaway roping.
In saddle bronc riding, Brody Cress became the third cowboy in the event to win at least $6,000 as he did so by winning the first two rounds with rides of 87.5 and 88 points respectively. Stetson Wright and Zeke Thurston were the two cowboys from Bracket 1 to clear the $6,000 mark.
Lastly, Colton Byram was the bull riding champion of Bracket 1 by being the only one to cover all three. Each ride was marked between 80 and 84 points and he won $7,000, the most of any athlete in any event in Bracket 2, thanks to ground money.
