Bareback rider Mason Clements went 91 points on Frontier Rodeo’s Gunfire in the finals at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, winning the round and the overall.
He’d ridden Gunfire twice before, in Las Vegas and Dodge City, with less success, but when seeing the horse’ name on the draw, Clements was determined to get a third shot.
“My heart was set on picking that sucker and having some redemption,” he says. “I knew that if I could for a chance at redepmption. I knew that if I could start her strong, and pick her up and keep her going for 10 seconds, past the whistle, we were going to be pile of points.”
