San Angelo Rodeo prides itself on being one of the best true rodeos today, featuring the classics — bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, team roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, and barrel racing.
From the contestants, to the stock, to the production, it’s a top-quality event.
Sure, there’s a little added smoke and lighting, but what San Angelo offers is tried-and-true rodeo.
As an added rodeo bonus, the San Angelo Cinch Chute-Out features eight of the nation’s top cowboys and cowgirls in the rough stock events, calf roping, and women’s barrel racing. These competitors go head-to-head in a tournament format where in the final round, the rough stock contestants get to choose their animal in the order of their ranking, and each animal’s highlight reel and bio are played on the big screen to help familiarize the fans. On the timed event side of the final round, the contestants decide which order they will compete derived from fastest times in the first round. Winners of the second round are each presented with a check for $12,500 from Cinch! The 2020 Cinch Chute Out will be held February 15.
On the stock show side, San Angelo hosts one of the largest junior shows in the country. The event features over 40 different contests, competitions, and events for youth and open exhibitors showing cattle, swine, sheep, goats, llamas, and rabbits. They’re all vying for a spot in the prestigious Premium Sale, being held this year February 15. Here is a complete stock show schedule.
