Perf 9.jpg

San Angelo Rodeo is back and bringing us two more performances before we are crowning new champions. With three ties through out the seven events, including bareback riding and bulls, these last two performances could make all the difference.

BAREBACK RIDING

Sam Petersen sits No. 3 in the Resistol Rookie standings and No.8 in the World as he prepare to match up with Pickett Pro Rodeo’s Faded Nite. This horse bucked in San Angelo last year to be 84.5 points. The French-canadian, Pascall Isabelle, has been on a role the past few weeks and tonight, he drew Scarlett Fever.

STEER WRESTLING

Tyler Waguespack knows what it is like to have success in San Angelo as he finished third in 2023 behind Dakota Eldridge and Stetson Jorgensen. It is a 3.4 and 3.5 leading Round 1 & 2, Waguespack will have to be quick to get at the top of the leaderboard.

TEAM ROPING

With the recent change ups in partners, Tyler Wade will soon be roping with Wesley Thorp but you will see him with Travis Graves in San Angelo. Derrick Begay and Colter Todd went on to win the Finals of this rodeo in 2022, can they do it again?

SADDLE BRONC RIDING

Dawson Hay recently set an arena record in California giving him some extra momentum as he comes back to Texas. He has matched up with Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s South Point Gambler who Caleb Bennett rodeo for 84.5 points in 2022 and as of today, that would be enough to put Hay in the Top 12 to come back.

TIE-DOWN ROPING

The hometown hero of 2022, Ty Harris, is back and with added competition. His younger brother, Joel, got the crowd on their feet in an earlier performance and Ty just might do the same thing. This will be Harris’ Round 1 run tonight and he needs to be faster than 8.0 to get into the Top Six.

BARREL RACING

It is a night full of fan favorites in the barrel racing. Dona Kay Rule and Valor will run down the alley but who will we see Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi and Lisa Lockhart on? Their current main mounts are Birdie and Levee but their trailers are loaded down with horsepower that gives them options.
