After getting bucked off of his first horse in Sioux Falls, World No. 2 Sage Newman likely had to win Round 2 to crack Saturday’s Semifinals and that’s exactly what he did with 85.5 points on Three Hills Rodeo’s Ronnie.
“I messed one up last night and knew I had to come do my job today,” he said.
Newman’s 85.5-point ride was the highest marked of the Governor’s Cup through two rounds.
The Top 8 advanced to Saturday’s Semifinals and they will then be narrowed to a Four-Man Shootout with the winner taking home $25,000. It’s the final day of the regular season, and the action begins on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+ at 7 PM CT/6 PM MT.
