Sage Kimzey Sweeps His Way Through Fort Worth

Sage Kimzey has yet to lose in the 2022 rodeo season.

After an extended layoff following his seventh PRCA Bull Riding World Championship because of the birth of his son, Steele, Kimzey made his 2022 debut at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo and won all four Go-Rounds he rode in.

“I told (my wife) Alexis, ‘if I’m going to be gone from you two I’m going to make it worth it,’” Kimzey told ProRodeo.Com. “I had a really nice draw tonight in Space Unicorn. You know I was really happy to have him, he’s a really great bull and it all worked out for me here in Fort Worth.”

Kimzey was 80 points in Round 1, 88 in Round 2, 88 in the Semifinals and 91.5 in the Finals to seal the deal. Overall, he earned nearly $30,000 at the event and went from unranked to No. 4 in the PRCA World Standings.

“The winter is kind of tricky, it’s one of those things, you don’t have to win during the winter because we have so much money to win in the summer,” Kimzey said. “Coming into Fort Worth, packed house, this is my first rodeo of the year, it definitely doesn’t hurt that’s for sure.”
