Saddle Bronc Legacy Statler Wright is Only Heating Up as the Winter Run Goes On

Statler Wright has picked up a Go-Round win at every major rodeo since January and he stopped by Western Sports Round Up.

The youngest of the Wright brothers, Statler, has hit a hot streak in his young career. The 2024 Texas Swing has been good to the Utah cowboy and he is taking it in stride, one horse at a time, and he sits No. 3 in the PRCA World Saddle Bronc Riding Standings.

“I think just doing good, just placing everywhere really, it makes a huge difference. Like my dad always says ‘steady grip wears away the stone’ so I’m just trying to place and make the best rides I can all winter,” Wright said.

Wright had a successful fall but has found a new gear this winter picking up wins in Odessa, Denver, Fort Worth and San Antonio. He attributes part of this new success to a new saddle.

“When your saddle feels good it feels like nothing can go wrong,” he said.

With the final bracket of San Antonio concluding on Wednesday night, Wright’s next stop is the Semifinals inside Frost Bank Center. The momentum is swinging his way and he is gunning to keep his high ranking in the standings all season long.
