Reigning World Champion Saddle Bronc Rider Zeke Thurston is heading into the summer run with a string of solid rides behind him and one of those solid rides is a 93.5-point ride that makes him your Roughstock Athlete of the Week.
Back in his home country and home turf of Alberta, Canada, Thurston matched up with one of the most sought-after Calgary Stampede broncs in professional rodeo, Calgary Stampede’s Xplosive Skies at the Wildwood Bronc Bustin’.
After an 87-point ride placed him fourth in the Long Round, Thurston came back in the Short Round to do what he does best. He put on a show aboard the big bay to get a massive score with the event win only came his way by one point.
This has unofficially added almost $7,000 to Thurston’s 2023 season earnings and shows, yet again, why he is a three-time World Champion and your Roughstock Athlete of the Week.
