Sterling Crawley got inside the NFR cutline over the weekend thanks to a wins in Omaha and New Braunfels and additional checks in Oklahoma City and Stephenville.
Crawley’s two biggest checks came in Omaha and Oklahoma City. At the River City Rodeo, he was 84 points on Sippin’ on Fire from The Cervi Brothers to win $3,400. In OKC, he was second at the Division 2 Xtreme Broncs Qualifying Event, which paid just over $2,500 $3,412
Ironically, the Texan’s other win was on a similarly named horse, Lancaster & Jones’ Fire Proof. That win was due to 82 points at the Comal County Fair and Rodeo.
Crawley, 31, is hoping to qualify for his eighth NFR and sixth in the last seven years. He
