Bareback rider Leighton Berry is sitting No. 8 in the world after a successful trip to Puyallup for the Cinch Playoffs at the Washington State Fair.
Berry kicked off the weekend with an 88-point ride on Calgary Stampede’s Cinchy Whitney in Round 1 of Playoff 1. He went on to be an 83.5 on Bridwell Pro Rodeo’s Wild Bill Cody to continue adding to his season earnings. He finished the No. 1 cowboy in the Semifinal Round with an 86.5 on Calgary Stampede’s Arbitrator Joe before going on to the Final Round where he won $13,000 with a 90-point ride on Calgary Stampede’s Xplosive Skies.
Taking home the title and almost $20,000, Berry is the Roughstock Athlete of the Week. He is continuing to impress during the 2022 season as he looks forward to making his second National Finals Rodeo.
