The 2022 World Champion and three-time NFR Average winner, Jess Pope, is no stranger to the winner’s circle — and he proved that again this past weekend with two standout performances in Guymon, Oklahoma, and Kansas City, Missouri.
At the Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo, Pope delivered an outstanding 90.5-point ride on Frontier Rodeo’s ‘Breaking News’, claiming his second consecutive win at the event. Surprisingly, he drew the same horse in 2024 and made a 90-point ride, showing the consistency of both Pope and Frontier’s standout bucking horse.
Known as one of the most consistent bareback riders in professional rodeo, Pope kept his momentum rolling at the American Royal Rodeo in Kansas City, just down the road from his hometown of Waverly, Kansas. There, he rode Korkow Rodeos’ Coconut Jamboree for 88 points, securing yet another win.
After finishing fifth in the world following the 2024 NFR, Pope is making a strong push for another world title in 2025. He currently sits No. 4 in the PRCA World Standings and has earned this week’s title of Roughstock Athlete of the Week.
