JB Mauney is back on the board in an electric way.
Mauney won at the Los Fresnos Rodeo when a 90.5-point ride on New Star Pro Rodeo’s Smorgasboard to earn a payday of more than $3,700. He also found success in the Southeast with an 84 in Kissimmee, Florida and an 87 to earn a three-way split of the Dixie National Rodeo title.
The legendary bull rider raked in enough cash to break into the Top 50 in the world, coming in at No. 39 with $8,800.
Mauney’s true return to the rodeo world actually came a week prior when he rode for Beutler and Son’s Bonfire for 90 points in San Antonio, which he made through the Uvalde qualifier. That got him through to the Semifinals before he went on to Mississippi, Florida and Los Fresnos.
He is 5-for-12 on the season with an average score of 86.6 points.
