Statler Wright’s performance at the Cowboy Channel Rookie Roundup presented by Resistol landed him the inaugural championship title and a place in rookie history. It was an 88.5-point ride on Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s Border Town that cinched the young gun in blue the big win back in 2022.

Wright had plenty of success in his rookie year. In Jackson, Mississippi at the Dixie National Rodeo he rode for a $3,500 payday. Another $3,000 check came his way at Rodeo Austin after 86 points on Chisum Trail. He caught his stride in Fort Worth at the Rookie Roundup and never let it go.

Wright kicked off the summer run of 2022, in a big way. A 90.5-point ride on Yeti Rambler in the Final Round of Rodeo Reno made him the co-champion. Wright continued to ride a wave of big scores and big paydays when he won Big Fork Summer ProRodeo and finished second at the Rooftop Rodeo. He would get the biggest payday of his rookie year at the Fiesta Days Rodeo in Spanish Fork, Utah with an 87.5-point ride on Yellowstone of Frontier Rodeo. He did not stop there. Washington, Oregon, New Mexico, and Texas would all bring success to rodeo’s youngest Wright.

After barely missing out on the National Finals Rodeo in 2022, Wright kicked off his 2023 season with a $2,900, 87-point ride in New Town, North Dakota. It was followed up with another 87-point ride at the Wilderness Circuit Finals Rodeo before the young gun won the Brawley Cattle Call Rodeo on Rosser Rodeo’s Floodtide. At Rodeo Houston, it would be an 84.5 that would bring in $3,000 before he would win Cave Creek Rodeo Days and cash in on $2,335.

Statler would finish the 2023 season No. 19 in the Saddle Bronc World Standings, missing the NFR by just $10,000.

All of his momentum continued into 2024. Wright is currently No. 3 in the Saddle Bronc World Standings with over $69,000 earned this year.

Wright had great showings during the Texas Swing. In Fort Worth, he made over $10,000 after placing in all four rounds he rode in. Wright placed fourth in the Finals with an 88-point ride on Xplosive Skies.

He would head to the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo where he found more success, winning a round with an 87-point ride and placing second in another round after an 86.5-point ride. Those two rides alone earned Wright over $10,000 in San Antonio.

Wright’s consistency has shown throughout the 2024 season with him earning several checks over $1,000. Wright took home over $4,000 at the Southeastern Livestock Exposition after winning the rodeo with an 86.5-point ride.

As it stands the week of the 2024 Resistol Rookie Roundup, Wright has earned nearly $70,000 and is just $900 out of second place. Everyone is chasing the No. 1 man Damian Brennan who is over $123,000 after the Texas Swing.
