Rookie Bull Rider Bubba Greig Wins Go-Round in San Antonio Debut

Bubba Greig made good on his first performance at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo with an 88 point ride to get the Bracket 4, Round 1 win.

Greig made the eight seconds on Ribbon of Darkness from Stockyards Pro Rodeo. It was his first qualified ride since the Finals of the National Western on Jan. 23.

“I didn’t know a whole lot about (Ribbon of Darkness), I knew he was pretty big,” Greig said. “They’ve rode him a few times, won some money, so it worked out.”

Thanks to a terrific start to the season, Greig sits No. 6 in the PRCA World Standings and No. 2 in the Resistol Rookie Standings.
