Rookie bareback rider Rocker Steiner on his mentors and what practice is like on the Steiner Ranch

Rocker Steiner, the son and grandson of past World Champions, made his highly anticipated PRCA bareback riding debut on Friday night in Des Moines, Iowa.

Prior to his first ride, which went for 79 points and earned him a check, he stopped by Western Sports Round-Up for an interview with Janie Johnson where the pair discussed his mentors and his practices.

Rocker’s grandpa Bobby and father Sid helped get some great people supporting Rocker from a young age. Growing up, Rocker spent time practicing and hanging out with the likes of Kaycee Feild, Tilden Hooper and Cole Reiner.

“Not only is preparation really key, but having the right guys in your corner is even a bigger deal and I got the right guys in my corner,” Rocker said. “It’s fun to practice because everyone comes out to hangout, it’s like a little rodeo.”
