Arizona bull rider Wade Tuni made the eight two different times to be your Rookie Athlete of the Week. One ride came at the legendary Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo while the other came at the Rodeo Rapid City Xtreme Bulls.

Inside Dickies Arena, Tuni strapped to Andrews Rodeo’s Black Magic to be 88 points in Round 1 of Bracket 3. That would be the highest marked ride of the three qualified rides between the two Go-Rounds and it earned Tuni a trip to the Semi-Finals.

He followed it up with another outstanding 88.5-point ride in South Dakota aboard Sutton Rodeo’s One Chance. While he did not make the eight in the Finals, Tuni’s Round 1 score held up for the Long Round win and second in the Average.

It was a $13,000 week for Tuni and he is leading the Resistol Rookie of the Year race early on with a seat in the No. 2 spot in the PRCA World Standings. With that, the young bull rider in your Rookie Athlete of the Week.
