Ron Ross Memorial Steer Roping and Liberty Hill Fair & Rodeo Keep Western Heritage Alive in Small Texas Town

Corey Ross is the Pastor and Founder of Williamson County Cowboy Church. He is also a part of an event that honors his father, the Ron Ross Memorial Steer Roping, a huge fiver header steer roping taking place in Liberty Hill, Texas on May 13 and 14. The steer roping is followed by the Liberty Hill Fair and Rodeo the next weekend on May 18.

“He just raised is in a ranching family and he was one of those guys that never sugar coated anything. So, he was just a fantastic man that we get to now honor with the Ron Ross Memorial Steer Roping. Then to add a rodeo the next weekend there in Liberty Hill is a highlight, of course, for me because he’s my dad but it’s a highlight for our town as well because it still brings in the western lifestyle, the industry that is important to all of us, to carry it on,” Ross said.

Four-time World Champion Scott Snedecor has seen Ross’ events come together over the years firsthand. They are the kind of events that Snedecor says draws in the numbers as steer ropers come to compete for big money that can change their entire season.

A memorial steer roping and a PRCA rodeo will keep the community of Liberty Hill, Texas and surrounding areas busy with excitement over these next two weekends and tickets can be found here.
